Don’t put away the mittens – frigid temperatures are expected throughout St. Lawrence County for the rest of the week.

Wednesday’s high temperature will only reach 3, according to the National Weather Service.

Light snow is expected in the North Country tonight, resulting from a low-pressure system passing to the south, according to the weather service. Temperatures may drop below zero tonight.

Dry and cold weather is expected to prevail for the remainder of the work-week, with the coldest wind chill values expected to dip into the negative 20s or 30s Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to the weather service.

Temperatures are supposed to warm somewhat during the weekend, reaching back into the high teens, the service says.
