CANTON -- TAUNY will host the 21st annual Salute to North Country Legends Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Laurentian Room of the Best Western Inn.
The ceremony will salute recipients of TAUNY’s Heritage Awards, followed by a reception.
The Heritage Awards recognize individuals, families, and community groups who have mastered traditional North Country arts and customs and work to pass them on to future generations. The annual “salute” honors recipients of the award with an audiovisual profile of each recipient and an awards presentation.
The 2013 recipients are dance fiddler Leon W. Boyea of Burke, the annual Wadhams Strawberry Festival, and St. Lawrence University’s Gunnison Memorial Chapel Bell Ringers.
