POTSDAM – Taglio Salon and Spa Inc. has moved to 1 Market St. allowing them to expand services and stylists through more floor space while being more visible to the community.

Co-owner Ashley Couglar says the new location gains the salon an additional 1,000 square feet of space. She owns the business with Kristy LaCourse.

“It gives us more space and visibility,” Couglas said.

The beauty shop opened in its new location on Oct. 26, having operated out of 2 Elm St. for nearly four years.

“We painted and refinished the floors…giving it a more modern, elegant feel,” she said.

The previous location was only 350 square feet. The new space allowed them to hire another stylist, Sarah Wentzel.

There may be plans to add offerings including manicures and pedicures but Couglar said they will “take it as it comes.”

Couglar says Taglio Salon and Spa Inc. is a full service salon offering cuts for all members of family, coloring and makeup for weddings, proms and other special occasions.

They are an Aveda-concept salon, which uses flour and plant-based materials in its products which range from hair, skin and makeup The products are “as organic as possible,” Couglar said.

“We wanted to bring an urban feel to the area,” she said.

An official grand opening celebration is planned sometime after Thanksgiving but a specific date has not been set.

The salon is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are welcome.
