POTSDAM -- Student athletes raised nearly $2,000 to help deployed soldiers.
The Swimming for Soldiers fundraiser was put in motion by two SUNY Potsdam swimmers, Emily Kanoza, and Dan Costa on Saturday at the Maxcy Hall Pool, SUNY Potsdam.
The athletic department raised about $2,000 by swimming laps in exchange for donations.
Athletes swam for a total of 40 min.
All money is going to the SUNY Potsdam Operation Military Support Group on Potsdam Campus.
The group sends care packages to deployed soldiers overseas; specifically sending to soldiers who went to the four area colleges, Potsdam, Clarkson, St. Lawrence, and Canton.
