HANNAWA FALLS – More than $23,000 was raised by 74 dedicated participants in the annual and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley “Swim a Mile for Hospice” event Saturday, Aug. 1.
There were 33 new swimmers this year, according to Hospice’s Kellie Hitchman.
“Thanks to Potsdam Recreation for hosting this event for the sixth year,” Hitchman said. “Without their cooperation and safety team this would not have been possible.”
This effort raised more than $23,200 to support services provided to patients, families and community members as they are affected by serious illness and grief.
