Support groups meeting at Massena Memorial Hospital for a variety of ailments and conditions

MASSENA -- Support groups for a variety of needs and ailments will meet at Massena Memorial Hospital weekly or monthly.

• Alzheimer’s support group is on the third Monday of the month in the main floor conference room at 5:30 p.m. The support group offers emotional, educational, and social support for caregivers. More info: Tanya Bolia and Ellen Wilson at 769-9956 or MMH Public Relations at 769-4262

Breastfeeding support group is the first Tuesday of the month, except holidays at the New Testament Church Nursery, beginning at 10 a.m. The group is facilitated by childbirth educator Snow Harper-Moulton. No registration is required. Refreshments will be served. More info: 769-4249

• Celiac support group meets the first Tuesday of each month (except holidays), in the MMH main floor board room at 5 p.m. More info: 769-4305

• Childbirth preparation classes are Tuesdays in the MMH Community Education Room at 7 p.m. A mom-to-be should sign-up by 20 weeks gestation. Upcoming class dates are June 28, Aug. 16, Oct. 4 and Nov. 8. Register: 769-4249

• Narcotics Anonymous meets every Saturday, except holidays, in the community education room at 7 p.m. More info: Donald 842-8025 or at 769-4262.

• Skin tumor and lesion detection clinic is on the third Tuesday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. Doctors Sanjay Shah and Dalkeith Facey offer the clinic, by appointment only. Appointments, more info: 769-4656

• SMART Recovery is every Thursday at 7 p.m. in the MMH lower level conference room. Participants learn” self-empowering techniques to aid their recovery through mutual-help face-to-face and online meetings and services,” MMH said.
