A pleasant weekend is in store for the North Country with clear skies and moderate temperatures.

A frontal boundary has made its way through the region this morning, and high pressure will build over the area for the remainder of the weekend into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Another front will traverse the area Monday night into Tuesday, bringing with it some clouds and a chance of showers. High pressure returns Wednesday bringing back clear skies right into the end of the week.

High temperatures throughout the period will be in the 70s and lows in the upper 40s and low 50s.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and northwest Adirondacks:

• Today: Sunny, with a high near 72. West wind around 10 mph.

• Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 47. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. West wind 5 to 9 mph.

• Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

• Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind 5 to 8 mph.

• Monday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Light southwest wind. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

• Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. Light northwest wind.

• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the morning.

• Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. Calm wind.

• Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
