POTSDAM – A SUNY Potsdam student from Washingtonville is being held on $2,500 cash bail on child pornography charges.
Colin P. Baxter, 24, was arrested last Friday afternoon after an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Potsdam Police Department andwas charged with promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, a Class D felony, and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony.
Members of both agencies seized several computer items and electronic storage devices from Baxter’s local residence on Bay Street. A forensic examination of the seized items found they contained multiple illegal images and videos of obscene sexual performances by children under the age of 16, according to police.
Baxter was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court before Justice Pignone and was sent the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
