POTSDAM -- In the wake of racist and homophobic threats against a faculty member, SUNY Potsdam says their university police had a briefing this morning with state police officials and is beefing up university police patrols on campus, school spokesperson Alexandra White said.
SUNY Potsdam officials today met with a senior investigator from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and a lieutenant from New York State Police, Canton, "to ensure continued coordination of the investigation regarding the recent hate crime on campus."
"The safety of the faculty member and their family who were the targets of this attack remains paramount, and we continue to assist with their security," White said in an email.
"Beginning today, there will also be increased patrols on and around campus, both from University Police and by officers from NYS Police and the Potsdam Village Police Department, to better ensure ongoing campus safety."
