SUNY Canton student charged with felony pot sale; $13,000 in cash also confiscated

 CANTON – Members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force charged a SUNY Canton student this morning with felony marijuana sale and other counts as they confiscated $13,000 in cash, some weed, and digital scales.

Nasir M. CisseNasir M. CisseNasir M. Cisse, 21, is accused of third-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a Class E felony, fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Police with a search warrant for his dormitory room turned up roughly 20 grams of marijuana, less than an ounce; digital scales; and $13,000 in U.S. currency.

Cisse was arraigned before Town of Canton Court Judge O’Horo and sent to county jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond. He is to return on a later date for further proceedings.

Elements of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force involved in the case were from the Canton, Potsdam, SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam police departments and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
