CANTON – Two new commercials promoting SUNY Canton emphasize “real-world educational opportunities,” an announcement from the college says.
Both of the commercials are designed to show a glimpse of participation in SUNY Canton’s majors.
One was developed to demonstrate the hands-on technology available in SUNY Canton’s highly regarded engineering technology programs.
“We are emphasizing our strong link with science, technology, engineering and math through our marketing by highlighting many of our career driven programs, such as Alternative and Renewable Energy Systems and Mechanical Technology, among others,” said SUNY Canton Acting Director of Public Relations Travis G. Smith.
“Our programs demonstrate the same techniques used in professional careers,” Smith said.
The two spots were filmed in high-definition in two days. Aerial footage was obtained using a camera mounted to a remote-control drone.
The new advertisements feature students in typical classroom settings, with students provided the voice-over messaging. The commercials’ backdrops include the college’s footbridges, the turf field, fitness center and the Grasse River Suites residence hall.
The college used the Plattsburgh-based production company Media Central to film and edit the commercials.
They will appear throughout the state and on local North Country channels.
The videos are posted to the college’s YouTube channel and on the SUNY Canton public relations web pages at http://www.canton.edu/public_relations/video.html.
