CANTON – A SUNY Canton nursing student from Potsdam is working this holiday season to make life a little better for children with life-threatening diseases and their families.
Molly Siematkowski, a Colton-Pierrepont Central School graduate living in Potsdam, and her friend Miranda Braner from Middletown, are selling bracelets to raise money for the charity Give Kids the World, a non-profit resort that creates special memories for sick children.
Wish granting organizations coordinate transportation to Orlando, Fla., while Give Kids the World provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, attractions tickets, and meals for a week-long fantasy vacation.
With the help of donations from individuals and corporations, Give Kids the World is able to serve over 7,000 families each year.
The Pear Tree and Nature’s Storehouse in Canton are collecting donations for the bracelets throughout the holiday season.
