CANTON – SUNY Canton will host one of five sessions around the state as part of a $290,000 New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) program to develop and teach energy efficiency skills to oil heat technicians. Training in Canton will be Sept. 6 and 7.
The program is designed to fill the gaps between HVAC and oil industry certifications and the Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification, which is a requirement for participation in NYSERDA’s Home Performance with Energy Star program.
The training will cover whole building science, energy efficiency, combustion efficiency, advanced oil tank installation, and combustion and air venting.
