SUNY Canton students Carlos Remigio and Skylar Miller use the new bridge to walk to campus.
CANTON -- The footbridges connecting SUNY Canton and downtown Canton were reopened for pedestrian use Friday, Sept. 14, after being closed all summer.
Since being closed on June 4, the bridge has been updated with timber-framed covered walkways. Some work will continue, but students and community members have begun taking advantage of the new walkways.
An official grand opening celebration will be held in early October.
The footbridges span the Grasse River and connect the college to downtown Canton.
