The sunshine we’re seeing this morning could fade by early afternoon as the weather turns windy combined with a sloppy wintry mix tonight.

The National Weather Service is warning in a special weather statement that fog overnight combined with below freezing temperatures across northern New York will result in patchy ice making for slippery travel conditions tomorrow morning.

The light northeast winds today will turn to the east and rise to 7 to 13 mph with gusts as high as 25 tonight.

Wednesday will begin with occasional rain and sleet becoming all rain in the afternoon.
