The National Weather Service is calling for clear skies today and Saturday with highs around 20 both days before clouds, lower temperatures and the chance of snow move into St. Lawrence County.
Winds today will be from the southwest at 8 to 10 mph, dropping to 3 to 6 mph tonight with lows around 10 degrees.
Wind be light Saturday and Saturday night. The chance of snow Saturday night is pegged at 30 percent, rising to 50 percent Sunday with highs around 15 degrees, according to forecasters.
Sunday night the temperature is expected to drop into the single digits below zero with light winds.
The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and northwestern Adirondacks:
• Today: Sunny, with a high near 20. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph.
• Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 9. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
• Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 19. Calm wind.
• Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 7. Light and variable wind. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
• Sunday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 15. Light west wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
• Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around -2. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable.
• Monday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 25. Southwest wind 7 to 13 mph.
• Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.
• Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Southeast wind 3 to 7 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Snow showers likely before 2am, then rain and snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 28. South wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
