OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg Free Academy and Hammond Central School students participating in Reality Check recently visited the state capitol in Albany.
The students met with Assemblywoman Addie Jenne, Assemblyman Marc Butler, and State Sen. Joe Griffo to discuss their efforts this year to spread awareness about the marketing tactics Big Tobacco companies utilize to attract youth to smoking.
The local chapter works to educate local schools, community members, businesses, and local officials about these tactics and how tobacco has affected local communities.
Reality Check’s next event is Kick Butts Day March 21 at Horizons Clubhouse in Massena, from 4-6 p.m.
