Strong winds knock power out to 300 National Grid customers in Potsdam, Brasher, Stockholm, Hammond, Rossie, Pierrepont, Hopkinton

Strong winds overnight caused around 300 National Grid customers to lose power in St. Lawrence County.

Gusty winds caused several schools to delay as well as knocking power out to homes in various parts of the North Country.

National Grid says 88 customers in Hammond are without power with an estimated time of 7 a.m. before it is fixed.

The next hardest hit area appears to be Rossie, as 68 customers lost power, with power expected to be restored around 6:45 a.m.

The lights should come back on in Brasher around 6:45 a.m. for about 60 National Grid customers and around 7:15 a.m. for 42 homes in Potsdam.

National Grid says 33 customers in Stockholm should receive power again around 8:30 a.m.

A few Hopkinton customers are without power with an estimated time of 8:30 a.m. before it is restored.

National Grid crews are assessing damage in Pierrepont which is reportedly affecting less than five homes.

The wind is expected to die down this morning, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. today.
