Elise Stefanik, Republican congresswoman-elect for the North Country’s 21st Congressional District, has announced a team of community leaders from across the district to advise her on her transition to the Capitol over the next several months.

A press release from her campaign office said the group “will help identify key issues, priorities and personnel across the North Country to help ensure a seamless transition that reflects the interests from across the District.”

Included among them are people identified in the release as Nancy Foster of Massena and John Greenwood of Canton.

Also helping her out will be the Republicans who represent St. Lawrence County in Albany, Sen. Joe Griffo, 47th Senate District, Sen. Betty Little, 45th Senate District, Sen. Patty Ritchie, 48th Senate District, Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush, 117th Assembly District, Assemblyman Marc Butler, 118th Assembly District, and Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, 115th Assembly District.

“I am so honored that these prominent leaders from across the District will help us get off to a strong start in serving the hardworking residents of the 21st District,” said Stefanik. “I am committed to working with anyone, across the district and in Washington, to make sure the issues that are important to the residents in the North Country are heard in Washington."

The first organizational call with the transition team is set for next week. It follows a week of orientation meetings where the congresswoman-elect was briefed on setting up her new office. She also met with numerous New York representatives in Washington including U.S. Senators Schumer and Gillibrand.
