Steelin’ Country to perform for opening of Old Town Hall in Waddington

WADDINGTON -- After months of restoration work, the Old Town Hall in Waddington is ready to open its doors to the public.

The historic hall will host Steelin' Country and The Josh Barkley Band for a concert and grand re-opening on Tuesday, July 31, starting at 5 p.m.

The town museum will be open downstairs, and the concert will begin in the upper hall at 6. There will be free parking and the building is handicap accessible.

The Lisbon-based Steelin’ Country consists of Kirk Robinson on pedal steel guitar, Michelle Robinson on vocals and guitar, Terry Robinson on guitar, Josh Barkley on bass, and Alex Hammond on percussion and vocals.

The band plays "real country" music from the past, along with several original compositions.  Copies of their classic-country album, “Songs Mama Loved,” featuring original and cover songs, will be available.

Recently formed, the Josh Barkley Band plays a wide range of classic tunes you are sure to sing along to. From Johnny Cash to Steve Miller and even Blink 182, there’s a song for the whole family.

The band derived their name from Madrid’s own Joshua Barkley who plays bass and keyboard for the band. Playing lead guitar is Tyler Allen, also from Madrid. From Waddington, on drums is Daniel Cassada, formerly of Atomic Precipitation. Playing rhythm guitar and vocals is Alex Hammond, formerly of The Acoustic Brothers.
