State troopers say they charged 1,309 motorists statewide during their Super Bowl Sunday “STOP-DWI” impaired driving crackdown.
They say they beefed up their efforts from noon to midnight on Feb. 1, which included sobriety checkpoints.
The charges included:
• 31 for driving while intoxicated
• 408 for speeding
• 39 for distracted driving
• 55 seatbelt violations
• 16 “Move Over Law” violations
