OGDENSBURG -- State Sen. Patty Ritchie is teaming up with the Ogdensburg Salvation Army to collect food items for the Salvation Army’s Community Christmas Day Dinner.

The free turkey dinner will be served at noon Christmas Day at the Salvation Army, 401 Franklin St.

They will also be delivering dinners to the three senior high rises in Ogdensburg. Residents of those buildings can sign up in their lobbies.

Ritchie is asking people who can to bring canned goods and other food items to her office in the basement of Ogdensburg’s City Hall at 330 Ford St. during regular business hours until Thursday, Dec. 14.

“I want to make sure that everyone can enjoy a delicious, nutritious dinner on Christmas Day. That’s why I am asking for your help in making a donation to the Salvation Army to ensure no one is forgotten this Christmas,” said Ritchie. “We’re looking for potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, canned corn, stuffing and canned cut green beans.”

"We want to thank Sen. Ritchie for helping us with this important community event," said Salvation Army Lt. Shaun McNeil. "Together, we can make sure everyone has a place where they can spend Christmas Day."

Anyone wanting to make a donation after Dec. 14 should bring items directly to the Salvation Army office on Franklin Street.
