Sen. Patty Ritchie is accepting nominations of St. Lawrence County women for the New York State Senate's 2014 Women of Distinction program.
The program is to recognize everyone making a difference, from outstanding leaders to every day citizens.
All nominees will be invited to a local recognition ceremony on May 1; one individual from each Senate district will be honored a May 13 ceremony in Albany.
Rhonda Lyn Roethel, a St. Lawrence County resident was selected as last year's 48th district honoree. The district also covers Jefferson and Oswego counties.
