Senator Joseph Griffo, (R- Rome) was sworn officially sworn in with Judge Lippman in Albany on Jan. 7.
He was also sworn in at a public school in the Mohawk Valley, to give students and members of the public a chance to ask questions about the political process.
Griffo represents the 47th Senate District, which includes the towns of Massena, Brasher, Norfolk, Stockholm, Potsdam, Pierrepont, Russell, Clifton, Fine, and Pitcairn in St. Lawrence County, plus Lewis and Oneida counties.
Oneida County Family Court Judge Randal Caldwell administered the oath of office to Griffo, who then took questions from the audience of students.
“We brought our ceremony to the middle school so that these students could see how the process works, and ask questions about why our job is important and how it impacts their lives. I am happy that the people of the 47th Senate District elected me, and I am pleased to share this moment with our children,” Griffo said.
