DEKALB – State transportation officials will discuss design options on a proposed $9 million bridge replacement project on US Rt. 11 slated for 2018.
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will host a public information meeting Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. about the proposed project to replace the bridge where US Route 11 passes over the CSX railroad tracks in the town of DeKalb.
The meeting will be held at the Hermon-DeKalb Central School, DeKalb Junction.
The department is presenting design alternatives for the project, which proposes to address the deteriorated condition of the bridge, approximately three miles south of DeKalb Junction.
It is anticipated that traffic will be maintained on site during construction. The project is expected to be built during the 2018 construction season and cost approximately $9 million.
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials and local agencies.
The department is specifically soliciting comments on the development of alternates for the project, the proposed traffic control plan and comments on the project’s social, economic and environmental effects.
