PIERCEFIELD -- State Route 3 between Piercefield and Childwold in St. Lawrence County has been reduced to a single lane carrying alternating two-way traffic controlled by temporary signals.
The reduction is due to a localized slope failure along state Route 3, according to the Department of Transportation.
Variable message boards have been deployed alerting travelers of the change. The lane reduction and alternating two-way traffic configuration will be in place until repairs can be made, DOT said.
