MASSENA – The village treasurer had good news for the Board of Trustees at their Tuesday meeting: contributions to the state retirement system are going down for 2014-15.
Treasurer Julie Sharlow told the board they can expect a reduction by more than $100,000 over last year’s rates. Employee retirement contributions are going down by $48,318 and police and fire retirement payments are going down by $66,393, according to her report.
Sharlow is anticipating a $9,000 increase in workman’s compensation contributions for the upcoming fiscal year.
