State police make multiple DWI arrests overnight, beginning vigilant holiday weekend

Letting drivers know they will be on the lookout for unsafe drivers this holiday weekend, state police made a number of drunk driving arrests overnight.

• Joseph L. Malette, 37, Thornhurst, Pa., was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated at 11:30 p.m. Friday on St. Hwy 37, Waddington. He was issued an appearance ticket for court at a later date.

• Carrie Reith, 41, Heuvelton, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated—previous conviction in 10 years at 4:15 a.m. Saturday on St. Hwy 58, Macomb. She was released on cash bail to appear in court at a later date.

• Mark R. Seaman, 31, Gouverneur, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated—two previous convictions in 10 years at 2:40 a.m. Saturday on St. Rt. 11, Gouverneur. He was ordered held pending further court action.

• William C. LaPlant, 47, Edwards, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 3 a.m. Saturday at 29 Trout Lake St., Edwards. He was issued an appearance ticket for court at a later date.
