OGDENSBURG -- The Collision Reconstruction Unit of the state police is still investigating a two-car crash that resulted in three fatalities near Ogdensburg today.
State police responded to the accident, which occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. on State Route 37 Friday morning, police said.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Chevrolet drifted from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane, striking a 2012 Dodge, according to police.
The driver of the Chevrolet and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining passenger was transported to Upstate Medical Center and is currently listed as in critical condition, said police.
The driver of the Dodge was initially transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center before being transported to Upstate Medical Center. The driver is listed as in stable condition, according to state police.
Police declined to identify those involved in the accident until after next of kin have been notified.
