Updated Aug. 4 1:35 p.m. to correct erroneous information from state police saying the dog was rabid
RUSSELL – Hermon and Evans Mills residents were charged Monday afternoon following a dog complaint, according to state police.
Nancy L. Parker, 24, Evans Mills was charged at 3:26 p.m. with owning/harboring an unlicensed dog and fhaving a dog with an expired vaccine, troopers said.
Police initially reported the dog was rabid. However, on Aug. 4, troopers said due to an error in their police blotter clerical system, it was reported that the dog had rabies when in reality its vaccine had simply expired and it was not sick.
Kimberly A. Shaffer, 50, was charged with six counts of owning/harboring an unlicensed dog at 5:40 p.m., police said.
The subjects were cited and released.
