POTSDAM -- Potsdam will purchase a $178,212 heavy plow truck with help from a $100,000 state grant, according to Town Supervisor Rollin Beattie.
Highway Superintendent John Keleher applied for the State and Municipal Facility grant from the Dormitory Authority of New York on behalf of the town.
Beattie credited Keleher for performing the work.
Beattie said the town was pleased with news, and took action last week to transfer funds for the purchase at the Feb. 14 meeting.
Beattie said the town is required to purchase the truck and will be reimbursed for $100,000 at a later date.
The truck was purchased on state contract from Beam Mack Sales Service, Inc., for $178,212.
Potsdam town board will meet again March 14 at 6:30 p.m.
