AKWESASNE -- The St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Election Board has released the official slate of candidates for the June 6 election.
Chief: Tracy Sunday-Cook, Eric Thompson, who is currently a sub-chief, Peter John Burns III and Gloria Herne
Sub-chief: Margaret Ransom, Ruth Bell, Cheryl Jacobs and Randi Barreiro
Clerk: Corleen Jackson-Jocco and Betty Roundpoint
Chief Paul Thompson and Sub-Chief Eric Thompson’s seats are up for election.
Absentee ballots are available. They must be requested by June 3 and received by June 6 at noon.
Election day voting is June 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the tribe’s community building, state Route 37.
Walk-in voting is scheduled for June 1 and 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. each night at the community building.
In-home voting for eligible home-bound voters will be June 5.
