CANTON -- St. Lawrence University has signed on as both a Community Alliance Sponsor and Sponsor of the Best Student Film Award at this year’s inaugural The St. Lawrence International Film Festival.

The event slated for October 22-25, 2015.

“St. Lawrence University is an indelible part of this region and we couldn’t be more proud to associate this festival with their legacy of excellence in education and the arts. We look forward to showcasing the campus and its students to Festival attendees from America, Canada and beyond,” said Festival Executive Director Adam Paul.

St. Lawrence International Film Festival is a first of its kind with events on both sides of the international border between the U.S. and Canada: no other film festival in the world can claim such a footprint and exposure. With headquarters in Canton, festival events will take place there, as well as in Ottawa, Ontario, Potsdam, and Brockville, Ontario.

In addition to competition screenings, the festival will feature an opening gala at Ottawa’s Canadian Museum of History, a Block Party in Canton, special screenings, awards ceremonies and a closing night film and party.
