CANTON -- St. Lawrence University recently received national recognition for having some of the highest paid liberal arts graduates in the country.
According to College Factual, a college-ranking guide based in Troy, St. Lawrence ranks as having the fourth highest-paid liberal arts graduates, behind Cornell, Harvard and Yale universities. The report said the median starting salary for SLU alumni was $42,000, while mid-career alumni were earning an average of $90,000 per year, according to SLU.
According to Association of American Colleges and Universities, 80 percent of employers believe that every student should acquire a broad knowledge in the liberal arts, SLU said.
