NORWOOD -- St. Lawrence NYSARC (www.slnysarc.org), a private, non-profit organization committed to maximizing the potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, received a $534 donation from students and faculty at Norwood Norfolk Central School recently.

These funds will go to further St. Lawrence NYSARC’s services for people on the Autism Spectrum through their Children and Youth Services.

The group from Norwood-Norfolk Central School raised the funds by collecting box tops and selling Autism Awareness t-shirts. Students in the Norwood Kiwanis Key Club sold ribbons and bracelets to further assist with the effort.

St. Lawrence NYSARC’s Children and Youth Program provides individualized services for people with developmental disabilities from three to 22 years old with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Students participate in a variety of skill development activities addressing social, daily living, and academic skills using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Additionally, services are offered in the child’s home, in the community, and occasionally in their local school district.

For more information on these programs, call 315-379-9531.
