OGDENSBURG --St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, 800 Commerce Park Drive, will celebrate an 11,000 square-foot expansion at its main branch with a “Grand Opening Celebration” June 17 -21.
CEO Todd Mashaw said a growing number of employees and holdings prompted the addition.
"We ran out of office space and we have more employees," he said. "We also needed more storage space and more room to grow in the future."
Mashaw said the credit union employs 32 people across three locations and recently reached $100 million in assets.
"It sounds like a lot and it is, but for financial institutions it’s relatively small. But we keep continuing to grow at a pretty good rate."
In 2008, the credit union had about $66 million in assets.
Mashaw said the employees and members are excited about the expansion, which will allow for more convenience.
"We are going to have more space and we are remodeling so that our space is more functional and accessible," he said.
To celebrate the growth, the credit union will host a ribbon cutting June 17 at 10 a.m.
Free giveaways and specials discounts on non-real estate loans will also be offered.
