CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators Chairman Jonathan Putney said the proposed study of a rooftop highway is a long-waited step forward for North Country.
“The St. Lawrence County legislature has been supportive of an investment in a four-lane highway for many years,” he said. “We have been waiting some time for a governor who understood the need for upgrades to our infrastructure and he has arrived.”
Putney said the board appreciates the governor’s commitment to investing in area.
“The St. Lawrence County legislature is very appreciative of Governors’ Cuomo’s leadership regarding economic development in the North Country,” he said. “We need jobs and this project will help us to retain our current industries and to attract new business ventures. The multiplier effect from an infrastructure project of this magnitude is tremendous.”
