Vibrant colors at midway through the leaf-change season are expected in St. Lawrence County this weekend, while peak colors are expected in the central Adirondacks this weekend, according to observers for the Empire State Development Division of Tourism’s I LOVE NY program.
The state’s leaf-peepers map shows most areas in St. Lawrence County at midpoint, but some areas and trees are near-peak. Most hardwoods are expected to be at about 50 of peak color this weekend, with red, yellow, and some purple fall colors, and some areas where colors will be farther along.
In the Adirondacks, Franklin County spotters in Tupper Lake are predicting peak foliage this weekend with 85 percent color change with Saranac Lake not far behind.
