The St. Lawrence Figure Skating Club Ice Angels recently claimed a gold medal at the Empire State Games in Lake Placid. The title earns them the right to compete at the State Games of America in Lincoln, Neb. in the summer of next year. The squad also received the Kreppel Award for most inspiring program.
The skating contingent wrapped up a strong season, taking first place at the Terry Connors Open in Stamford, Conn. and tying for a top finish at the Colonial Classic in Lowell, Mass.
The St. Lawrence Figure Skating Club is based out of Canton with skaters hailing from St. Lawrence and Franklin counties.
