CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Youth Advisory Board, a citizen board of the St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau, is looking for nominations for the 2015 Memorial Award of Excellence in Karin P. Martin’s honor.

Karin P. Martin served on the St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau’s Youth Advisory Board. She was in a fatal car accident in 1989. As a member of the Youth Advisory Board, Karin was a leader and youth representative. She voiced her opinion with dignity on behalf of youth in St. Lawrence County, and strongly believed that youth involvement and board participation is of extreme importance in the planning and decision-making process for youth services.

This 2015 Memorial Award of Excellence will be given to an exceptional youth-serving program. The Karin P. Martin Award Committee of the St. Lawrence County Youth Advisory Board will select the finalist among the submitted nominations.

The 2015 award winner will be invited to attend a special board meeting on December 10, 2015 where the program will be recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Requirements: Any organization that includes youth in their planning and decision-making process. Including community-based, not-for profit, business, labor, and government agencies. Nominations can come from anywhere. Organizations may nominate themselves. All programs nominated must be in St. Lawrence County. The deadline for application submittal is Friday, Oct. 30.
