The St. Lawrence County Trappers Association will once again sponsor local teens to attend state Department of Environmental Conservation camps next summer.
DEC’s summer camp program provides quality, week-long adventures in conservation education for state residents ages 11 to 17.
DEC camp education staff will guide campers through a week of activities in fields, forests, streams and ponds, uncovering the connections in the natural world while observing wildlife, debating environmental issues, sample streams for microscopic life, explore the night sky, and make new friends from across the state.
Anyone who would like to be sponsored by the St. Lawrence County Trappers Association for a place at the 2019 camps can contact Jim Aubrey ay 389-5096 by Jan. 8. A letter explaining why the applicant is interested should be received by SLCTA, PO Box 148, Canton, NY, 13617, also by Jan. 8.
