Throughout March, St. Lawrence County will accept applications from property owners to add land to Agricultural Districts 1 and 2.
The county’s agricultural districts help protect farmland and farming activities in the county. Agricultural District 1 primarily consists of agricultural lands in the western and southern portions of the county, and Agricultural District 2 spans across the county’s northern and eastern regions.
Digital maps showing whether land is in an ag district are online at: http://new.dancgis.org/ima.
Applications to add land to Ag District 1 or 2 can be downloaded at http://www.stlawco.org/Departments/Planning/AgDistrictMap, obtained at local municipal offices, calling the county planning office at 315-379-2292, or emailing drussell@stlawco.org.
Applications will be accepted until March 30.
