Three St. Lawrence County synchronized skating teams won medals at the 2013 Empire State Winter Games held in Lake Placid recently.
The Mystic Ice Open Adult Synchronized Skating team, sponsored by the Potsdam Figure Skating Club, won the gold metal at the games. The gold win followed a bronze medal win at the 2013 Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships.
The Ice Angels and Saint Sensations, both sponsored by the St. Lawrence Figure Skating Club, also won medals at the games. The angels are a competitive beginner two team and the sensations compete at the pre-juvenile level. Both won bronze medals.
All three teams, plus their sister team The Rainbow Connection have earned the opportunity to participate at the State Games of America in Hershey, Penn. later this summer.
Team Tryouts for the Ice Angels, Saint Sensations and Rainbow Connection will be held Sunday, April 14 at the Roo Center, SUNY Canton. Ice Angels try outs will be from 2 to 3 p.m. The Saint Sensations and Rainbow Connection try outs will be from 3 to 4 p.m.
