CANTON – St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies are warning residents of yet another phone scam.
Deputies say the scammers claim to be employees of the Internal revenue Service.
The calls are coming from various numbers showing up on caller ID's and they are Scam calls. The community is again being warned not to entertain these calls; if you have a problem with the IRS they will not contact you in this manner.
Hang up on these calls, the longer you let them go, the greater the possibility that information that is useful for identity theft may be furnished. Do not give out your personal information, deputies say.
