Hoping to increase the chances of arrests of people wanted by authorities, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office has begun listing active warrants on its website, as a service to the community, according to a news release.
Residents can now go to the web site and see pictures and information regarding someone who is wanted for an offense and who might be in the community.
Those with information on the whereabouts of these people can then call the Sheriff’s Office at 379-2222 and leave information, completely anonymously, that they feel might lead to an arrest.
The “Warrant Alert” section of the web site cab be viewed at www.co.st-lawrence.ny.us/Departments/Sheriff/MostWanted, or by going to the St. Lawrence County government web site at www.stlawco.org and following the links to the Sheriff’s Office section under “Departments.”
