CANTON – St. Lawrence County Services Committee passed several resolutions abolishing and creating several positions.

The committee, which includes all members of the St. Lawrence County Legislature, recommended abolishing a financial investigator position, a social welfare examiner position, an account clerk-typist position and a community services worker position.

The committee recommended creating and filling two case supervisor positions in the social services department, a principal account clerk position in the public health department, a caseworker position in the social services department and a senior social welfare examiner position in the social services department.

It also recommends filling existing positions including a senior account clerk position in the public health department, a caseworker position in the social services department, a senior employment and training program coordinator position in the department of social services and a chemical dependency counselor position in the community services department.
