The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging and County Council of Senior Citizens are now accepting nominations for the 2015 St. Lawrence County Senior Awards including Senior Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen, and the Jacqueline Sears Volunteer Award to a nominee of any age.
If you know an exceptional senior who volunteers time in the community, call the Office for the Aging at 386-4730 for information on award qualifications and to receive nomination forms. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 28. Award winners will be announced at the May Fest.
The Office for the Aging provides service and advocacy for county residents 60 years and older. Programs and services include Nutrition Centers and Home Delivered Meals; Home Care Services; Family Caregiver Support; Senior Community Service Employment Program; Medical Transportation; Legal Services; Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance.
The Office’s mission is to develop a service system specifically designed to best meet the social and human needs of the elderly.
