St. Lawrence County is seeking applications to add property to Agricultural Districts 1 and 2, and requests to remove property from Ag District 2.

Applications will be accepted during March.

2014 is the eight-year review for Agricultural District 2, which gives property owners the opportunity to remove land from the district. Requests to remove land from Ag District 1 will not be accepted until 2016.

Landowners seeking to add or remove land must submit a form with information about the property to the County Planning Office.

The tax parcel number, acreage of the property, and a description of the land must be included in the request.

Blank forms can be obtained at local municipal offices, from the County Planning Office at 379-2292, or at www.co.st-lawrence.ny.us/Departments/Planning/AgDistrictMap.

Agricultural District 1 consists primarily of agricultural lands in the western and southern portions of the county, and Agricultural District 2 spans across the county’s northern and eastern regions.
