A series of weak upper level disturbances will move through the St. Lawrence Valley from Canada today through Sunday bringing several rounds of scattered snow showers, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
A strong high pressure system will build in the North Country late Sunday night and bring the coldest air of the season to the region with highs on Monday only in the single digits and teens, the service says.
New Year’s Day will see a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before noon, with mostly cloudy skies and highs near 33. A half inch of snow is possible.
The low tonight will be around 23 with west winds of 9 to 13 mph, NWS says.
Saturday is expect to be cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers after 7 a.m. and a high near 33.
Snow showers Saturday night and into Sunday could bring 2-4 inches to parts of St. Lawrence County.
Temperatures will begin to drop Sunday night with an overnight low around 6.
The high for Monday will be around 10 and -1 overnight on Monday.

A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 33. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday Night
Snow showers. Low around 24. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Sunday
Snow showers likely, mainly before 9am. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Southwest wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
