St. Lawrence County to see 24 percent increase in highway improvement funding

St. Lawrence County is in for a 24 percent increase in Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) funds in the next budget, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office.

A news release detailing county-by-county increases shows that St. Lawrence County was allocated $7,491,580.35 for the 2012-2013 budget year, and that $9,289,884.48 is in the 2013-2014 budget proposal.

That would be an increase of $1,798,304.13, or 24 percent over last year’s budget.
